Job Description
Niantic Labs is seeking a Game Designer for Pokémon GO in their Tokyo studio. The Game Designer will contribute to building engaging gameplay experiences, merging the virtual and real worlds, and inspiring exploration.Role involves:
- Creating, testing, and tuning game content for live operations in Pokémon GO.
- Creating one-page designs and content drafts.
- Communicating content requirements and implementation processes.
- Collaborating with internal teams to implement new content strategies.
- Creating market analysis and user outreach.
- Collaborating with IP holders to ensure brand integrity.
- Partnering with producers, designers, and marketing teams.
- Providing on-call troubleshooting support.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience crafting content for a live mobile game.
- Extensive content creation experience.
- Experience with game balance in a free-to-play model.
- Expertise with spreadsheets and data manipulation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Japanese.
- Flexibility in a demanding team environment.
- Passion for video games and understanding of mobile games.
- Solid understanding of Pokémon GO and the Pokémon franchise.
- Experience working on a high-profile game with many daily active users.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams.
- Based in Japan.
