KAYAK, a leading travel search engine and part of Booking Holdings, is seeking an Associate Manager, Tax to join their team in New York. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong US tax expertise to elevate KAYAK’s tax function and guide the business in a complex tax environment.
The Associate Manager, Tax will report to KAYAK’s Director, Global Tax, manage a regional tax analyst, and collaborate with Booking Holdings’ Center of Excellence. The role primarily involves managing tax compliance for North America and partnering with Booking Holdings on global tax provisions.
Responsibilities: - Assist with the preparation and review of US Federal & State income tax returns.
- Monitor US tax regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage US tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Prepare US data for monthly, quarterly, and annual group tax reporting.
- Manage compliance efforts for SOX 404.
- Manage the tax aspects of the monthly financial close process.
- Support the wider KAYAK tax team with Transfer Pricing strategy and compliance.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Finance, HR, Legal, and FP&A teams.
- Mentor and develop tax analysts.
- Assist and consult on ad-hoc projects.
- Provide tax input on commercial transactions.
Requirements: - CPA qualification or equivalent with 4-6 years of post-qualified experience.
- US tax experience is essential.
- Big 4 practice trained with industry (in-house) experience.
- Prior experience managing US tax compliance and provision processes.
- Technical tax expertise, knowledge of US and international tax concepts.
- Experience with tax accounting and shared principles (e.g., ASC 740, ASC 740-10 (FIN 48), SOX 404).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coaching and developing at least one direct report.
- Exceptional written and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Solution-focused with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple tasks.
- Experience using NetSuite, Salesforce and OneStream preferred.
- Advance Excel Expertise in manipulating large datasets using Excel/SQL.
