Job Description
Appian is seeking a Technology Strategy Engineer to join its CTO team in McLean, Virginia. This role involves working with the CTO team to help the ideation, incubation, and commercialization of new products. The Technology Strategy Engineer will track emerging technology trends, create novel approaches to enhancing the Appian Platform, present to a wide variety of audiences, develop prototypes, and write analysis of their research. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role with the opportunity to work directly with Appian’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer.
The role involves:
- Tracking emerging technology trends.
- Creating novel approaches to enhancing the Appian Platform.
- Presenting to a wide variety of audiences.
- Developing prototypes.
- Writing analysis of research.
Requirements:
- Practiced knowledge of programming concepts and best practices.
- Ability to write software in a full-stack web and mobile environment.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Ability to prepare data-driven, in-depth analyses and executive summaries.
- Superb communication skills.
- Flexible self-starter.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field/degree.
- Experience with React, Javascript, Java, and Python.
- Experience with using open source software and Git.
