Appian is seeking a Technical Consultant to join their Customer Success Public Sector team in McLean, Virginia. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for technology with strategic problem-solving skills. This role involves engaging with customers post-sales to develop software solutions on the Appian platform, driving digital transformation and competitive differentiation.

As a Technical Consultant, the individual will work throughout the entire project lifecycle to define, design, develop, and implement custom software solutions using Appian’s low-code platform. They will collaborate with client's technical teams and business users, working within an agile environment to understand business processes and technical needs.

Appian values in-person collaboration and expects employees to be in the office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with clients to define business processes and gather functional and technical system requirements.
  • Launching new relational data models in production.
  • Developing APIs to integrate with multiple systems.
  • Driving adoption by empowering clients to become self-sufficient.

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • 1+ years of experience with hands-on software development or technical consulting
  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field/degree
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for technology.
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of software testing practices and integrations experience using APIs.
  • Willingness to travel 10% or less annually.
