Staff Backend Engineer - USA

Inworld AI is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of its system and services. The company is a leading provider of AI technology for real-time interactive experiences, backed by top-tier investors. This role is focused on individual technical contributions, requiring a passion for both speed and quality in a startup environment.In this role, the engineer will collaborate with various teams to identify and prioritize impactful projects, design and develop services, and ensure system operability through comprehensive documentation and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have experience scaling services and working with cloud-based technologies.Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product Managers, ML Engineers, and QA teams.
• Design, develop, test, and launch services and features.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Scale services to handle increasing customer usage.

Requirements:

• Excellent programming skills in a statically typed language (Go, Kotlin, Java, or Rust preferred).
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-based services.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
• Hands-on experience with caching, queues/pubsub, data pipelines, and cloud storage.
• Excellent communication skills.
