Android Engineer

Job Description

Truecaller is seeking an Android Engineer to join their New Initiatives team in Stockholm, Sweden. This team operates like a startup within Truecaller, developing new apps and products from scratch. The Android Engineer will be responsible for efficient application development for the Android platform, participating in the entire product development cycle from ideation to delivery. Truecaller is a leading caller ID and spam-blocking service with over 420 million monthly active users.

Role Involves:

• Enabling and performing highly efficient application development for the Android platform.
• Participating in the whole cycle of product development, from idea generation to delivery.
• Writing simple, understandable, testable, and efficient code.
• Contributing to the team’s Agile practices.
• Maintaining high engineering standards.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Fluent in English, in speaking and writing.
• Experience in working with Agile methodologies.
• Ability to make the right compromises to maximize early value delivery without compromising on quality.
