Backend Engineer Team Lead

Truecaller is seeking a Backend Team Lead to join their Cloud Telephony team in Tel Aviv, Israel. The Cloud Telephony team is focused on revolutionizing communication by enabling AI-powered voice solutions for consumers and businesses through the Truecaller platform. The ideal candidate will spearhead the development of cutting-edge, AI-powered voice applications, leveraging modern technologies to design, develop, and maintain the telephony platform and its surrounding microservices.

The role is pivotal in driving innovation and ensuring the scalability and reliability of Truecaller's systems.

What this role involves:

• Leading the design and development of scalable and reliable systems to handle rapidly growing global voice traffic.
• Overseeing the development of high-volume, low-latency applications.
• Guiding backend feature development with a strong emphasis on ownership.
• Actively participating in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Providing technical leadership and direction to the backend development team.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience as a backend developer.
• 5+ years of experience working with Node.js and voice applications.
• Strong knowledge of Node paradigms and best practices.
• Experience with microservices architecture, DevOps, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Solid understanding of deployment processes, including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong team player with a positive attitude.
• Proven leadership experience and the ability to mentor junior developers.
• Experience working with AI technologies and integrating them into voice applications.
