Senior Analytics Engineer

Job Description

Babylist is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their Data Team. This role is pivotal in powering data-informed decisions across the business. The Senior Analytics Engineer will design and deliver well-structured, reliable data products using a modern data stack. They will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to build trusted data foundations and models that support critical decisions.Role involves:

• Owning and evolving core data models.
• Building robust, maintainable dbt models.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define key business metrics.
• Delivering clean and trustworthy data products.
• Defining and improving standards for documentation, testing, observability, and performance.
• Partnering with stakeholders to understand data needs.
• Mentoring others in data modeling and best practices.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in analytics or data engineering.
• Deep fluency in SQL and dimensional modeling.
• 3+ years experience working in dbt.
• Comfortable working across the full stack: Sigma, dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, Python.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Pragmatic approach to tradeoffs.
• Experience with ML data pipelines, Terraform, or DevOps.
• Exposure to entity-centric modeling, data vaults, or alternatives to traditional dimensional models.
