Job Description

PointCentral, a subsidiary of Alarm.com, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their team in Tysons, Virginia. In this role, the Software Engineer II will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of world-class smart property solutions. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work across a variety of technical areas, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously learn and apply new trends in software engineering to enhance systems and practices.

The Software Engineer II will have the opportunity to lead impactful projects, work with the latest technologies, and shape the future of security.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop full-stack software solutions across a variety of platforms and technologies.
  • Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging problems.
  • Take part in the entire development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation by bringing new ideas and technical improvements to the table.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills (ex. C#)
  • Experience with SQL databases, both in terms of schema + application development, as well as optimizations and database performance analysis
  • Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests
