Senior Decision Scientist

Job Description

Opendoor is seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to join their centralized Decision Science team. The ideal candidate will partner with various departments, including Operations, Product, Marketing, and Pricing, to drive business growth through data-driven recommendations. This role involves owning analytics for specific areas of Opendoor and collaborating with business owners to shape strategic direction.What this role involves:

• Becoming the go-to data analytics owner for a specific domain area.
• Developing metrics and dashboards to streamline data reports for various stakeholders.
• Partnering with internal stakeholders to ideate and execute strategic business initiatives.
• Improving analytics quality and efficiency in collaboration with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Data Engineers.
• Becoming a domain expert in real estate.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in an analytical role.
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Mode, Tableau, or Looker).
• Strong communication skills to influence non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working with complex data sets.
• System thinking and creativity to solve complex problems.
• Experience with experimentation and A/B testing.
