Job Description
Sotheby's is seeking a Vice President, Head of Buying, Merchandising and E-Commerce, Wine & Spirits. This role involves leading end-to-end logistics and financial operations for the purchase, marketing, and sale of fine wine and spirits. The VP will manage gross margin profitability, determine online, store, and direct sales selections and pricing strategies, and create digital promotional activities. They will also maintain inventory turnover, plan and execute consumer-targeted events, and direct the importation of fine wine and spirits into New York.

Role involves:
  • Managing gross margin profitability of fine wine and spirits sales.
  • Determining online, store, and direct sales selections and pricing strategies.
  • Creating digital promotional activities and managing their performance.
  • Maintaining inventory turnover against business goals.
  • Planning and executing consumer-targeted events to promote the business.
  • Directing importation of fine wine and spirits into New York from other countries and states.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience with selling, buying, and pricing fine wine and spirits with minimum value of $1 million per year.
  • 2 years of experience with managing online wine and spirits business with minimum sales value of $1 million per year.
  • 2 years of experience with selling or buying fine wine and/or spirits overseas.
  • 2 years of experience with cold chain logistics of importing and exporting fine wine.
  • 2 years of experience with purchasing fine wine and spirits from auction houses.
  • 2 years of experience with data analysis and data modeling, including pivot tables and index matches.
  • Up to 15% international travel required.

Sotheby's offers:
  • A salary range of $120,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year.
