Senior Accountant

This job posting is for a Senior Accountant at Sony Music in Bangkok, Thailand. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis. They will coordinate with the shared service center, monitor accounts receivable, and ensure compliance with Thai tax regulations. The role involves supporting forecasting and budgeting processes, preparing project P&Ls, and providing financial analysis to management. The Senior Accountant will also liaise with auditors and tax consultants, maintain internal controls, and supervise the local accounting team.

Role Involves:

• Preparing month-end journal entries and financial reports
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Coordinating with the shared service center on OTC, PTP, and RTR processes
• Monitoring accounts receivable and ensuring revenue recognition
• Reviewing VAT and WHT filings for compliance
• Supporting forecasting and budgeting processes
• Preparing artist project P&Ls and conducting profitability analysis
• Providing financial analysis and advisory support
• Assisting in preparing financial content for presentations
• Submitting industry reports
• Liaising with external auditors and tax consultants
• Maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance
• Collaborating with the SEA regional finance hub in Singapore
• Supervising and coaching local accounting team members

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
• At least 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Audit background is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Thai GAAP and IFRS
• Understanding of local tax, WHT, and VAT regulations
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP and Business Warehouse
• Familiarity with digital finance tools and automation
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel
• Effective communicator in both English and Thai
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior team members
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
• Passion for the music industry is a plus
