Job Description

Gotion Inc., based in Silicon Valley, CA, is seeking a Tax Leader to build and lead a high-performing corporate tax team. This role is crucial for managing all aspects of the corporate tax function, including global tax planning, compliance, audits, and financial reporting.

The Tax Leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's tax strategies and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. They will also communicate important tax-related insights to company leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Review annual domestic income tax returns.
• Oversee tax-related documents and filings.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across tax processes.
• Liaise with senior management on tax issues.
• Ensure organizational compliance with tax code changes.
• Oversee all costs associated with the tax function.
• Prepare effective tax rate modeling.
• Supervise and collaborate with outside tax advisors.
• Maintain an understanding of the company's global business developments.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies.
• Partner with the business to expand international operations.
• Manage the process of gathering, documenting, and reviewing GAAP-tax differences.
• Responsible for the Company’s transfer pricing planning and compliance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Tax.
• CPA designation or Master’s degree in accounting/tax preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
• Experienced with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
• 6+ years' experience, preferably within a Big Four public accounting firm and a multi-national public company global tax department.
• Must demonstrate a conceptual and business-oriented approach to communicate taxes and tax planning.
• Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage critical timelines.
