Job Description
Affirm is seeking an Accounting Lead to join their team. This role is fully remote in Canada. The Accounting Lead will leverage their expertise in accounting principles and systems to drive efficient financial processes and reporting. They will collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, utilizing problem-solving and communication skills to support Affirm's growth.

Role involves:
  • Championing intercompany operational excellence and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
  • Analyzing intercompany and consolidated results, providing variance analysis.
  • Leading the end-to-end intercompany accounting process across multiple Affirm entities.
  • Partnering with Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Owning the accounting integrity of Affirm’s standalone entities.
  • Executing accounting and reporting controls during monthly and quarterly closes.
  • Performing accounting and control procedures for complex transactions.
  • Driving process improvement through automation initiatives.
  • Assisting in designing and maintaining corporate accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end accounting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Passion for Affirm and interest in technology, BNPL, and consumer lending.
