Senior Product Design Engineer

Job Description

Quilt is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to contribute to their mission of transitioning homes from fossil fuels to efficient, electric heat pumps. The company aims to revolutionize the home heating and cooling market with beautifully designed, AI-optimized systems.

The Senior Product Design Engineer will play a crucial role in bringing Quilt's heat pump products to market. This involves designing innovative products, interfacing with partners, conducting validation testing, and driving failure analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Designing innovative products taking input from multiple stakeholders
• Interfacing with development and manufacturing partners
• Documenting and carrying out validation testing
• Driving failure analysis and designing fixes within tight constraints
• Working very closely with other members of the product development team at Quilt including Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Reliability, Product Management and Operations
• Being a cultural leader within the company, setting a high bar for excellence and creating an inclusive environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience developing and shipping hardware products with a very high quality bar.
• Experience working on end-to end first products, from prototype to sustaining
• Experience working with partners and suppliers in Asia.
• Passion for electrification and home automation with interest in user-focused design
• Strong mission alignment around climate and decarbonization
• Strong experience with Solidworks or equivalent CAD packages
