Job Description

Mozilla Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Mozilla VPN team. This is a fully remote, global engineering team. The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the development and optimization of the Mozilla VPN client across platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. They will also contribute to the Mozilla VPN extension for Firefox.

The role involves implementing new features, improving performance and reliability, and collaborating cross-functionally to bring features from ideation to end-users. The Senior Software Engineer will write maintainable code and review the code of peers, as well as triage, debug, and resolve software defects.

What this role involves:

Contributing to the development and optimization of the Mozilla VPN client across platforms.
Contributing to the Mozilla VPN extension for Firefox.
Owning features and collaborating cross functionally to bring them from ideation to end-users.
Writing pragmatic, maintainable, efficient code and review the code of your peers.
Triaging, debugging and resolving software defects.

Requirements:

6+ years of software engineering experience
High level of proficiency in C++, Javascript, and full-stack web development.
Experience developing cross-platform applications (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android)
An understanding of privacy and security principles and best-practices
Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring engineers
