HV Battery Electrical System Engineer

Gotion Inc., located in Fremont, California, is seeking a highly motivated HV Battery Electrical System Engineer. The High Voltage Battery Team is responsible for the design of high voltage battery pack design.

The system engineer will handle electrical system requirements for electrical components and BMS software, and EOL (End of Line) test requirements. This role involves communicating with the high voltage battery supplier to evaluate battery requirements and collaborating with the BMS team.

Responsibilities include:

• Identifying battery system and test requirements.
• Developing electrical schematics for battery pack and battery disconnect unit (BDU).
• Reviewing high voltage battery electrical components.
• Selecting electrical component suppliers and working with them.
• Reviewing and approving electrical component DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Approving design changes.
• Ensuring all HV battery pack electrical standards and requirements are met.
• Supporting component PPAP submission for electrical components.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Systems or Electrical Engineering degree.
• High voltage (over 200V) battery design experience.
• Experience with supplier design review and helping suppliers meet requirements and timeline.
• Experience in system requirement developments and defining a system level architect.
• Familiarity with Lithium ion battery technology.
• Experience in lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems.
• Strong data-driven analytical/problem solving skills.
• A team player with self-motivation to identify and close design issues.
