Job Description
Gotion Inc., located in Silicon Valley, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical components and systems for LFP battery energy storage systems (BESS). The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing projects from concept to production.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and systems for LFP battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Develop and validate mechanical designs through simulations, prototyping, and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and thermal management systems.
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization of mechanical systems.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs.
- Analyze test data and implement design improvements.
- Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to production.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to source materials and components.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in the design and development of mechanical systems for battery energy storage systems, specifically lithium iron phosphate technology.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and thermal management.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
