Job Description

Skylo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their System Test team in Espoo, Finland. This role involves implementing a robust automated test and QA environment to ensure the end-to-end system consistently exceeds customer expectations. The SDET will play a key role in all aspects of test automation, covering hardware, software, and firmware, for a carrier-class wireless network.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality and a keen eye for detail, contributing to building a verification platform from the ground up with global impact.

Role Involves:

  • Building, improving, implementing, and maintaining automated test platforms and environments.
  • Developing tests in Robot Framework and integrating them into Jenkins.
  • Supporting the System Test Engineering team in designing and maintaining functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Automating testing at a subsystem level to ensure high confidence in releases.
  • Developing maintainable and reusable software code and automated tests.
  • Generating API Level Automated Test Scripts.
  • Documenting, tracking, and escalating issues.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting automation scripts and tools.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering and/or Software build and release engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing test automation frameworks in a telecom environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with agile methodologies (scrum, kanban).
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications principles (LTE eNB, EPC, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT, 3GPP protocols).
  • Extensive experience with Robot Framework and Python.
  • Proficiency in integrating automated tests into Jenkins pipelines.
  • Experience with Linux and Docker.
  • Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, Git, GitLab, and Artifactory.
  • Experience with API testing.
  • Expertise in developing automated testing across multiple platforms and testing techniques.
  • Advanced Jira/Confluence knowledge.
