Job Description
Gotion Inc. is seeking a Cell Process Engineer to focus on developing, optimizing, and scaling up manufacturing processes for battery cells. This role is based in Fremont, California, and involves approximately 25% travel.
Responsibilities: - Designs, develops, and optimizes battery cell manufacturing processes at the laboratory scale.
- Refines techniques to improve efficiency, yield, and cell performance.
- Conducts process simulations to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Develops and implements process control strategies for consistent product quality.
- Collaborates with R&D teams to ensure manufacturability of new battery cell designs.
- Coordinates with equipment vendors for optimal integration with process workflows.
- Develops detailed process documentation, including SOPs and training materials.
- Participates in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement.
- Manages lab raw material supplies and logistics.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a cell process development role.
- Strong technical skills in pouch cell design and process development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong understanding of battery cell chemistry, design, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in process optimization and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in engineering software and tools (e.g., MATLAB, AutoCAD).
