Job Description

Moniepoint is seeking a Credit Recovery Legal Specialist to oversee loan recovery cases requiring legal expertise. The specialist will offer legal guidance and coordinate with internal and external legal teams to ensure effective and efficient recovery efforts through Nigeria’s legal system. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and external legal partners to maximize recovery efforts while mitigating legal risks. The specialist will also provide valuable insights and recommendations to streamline future recovery cases and support the company's growth objectives.

Role involves:
• Overseeing litigation proceedings against defaulting borrowers.
• Establishing a nationwide network of legal partners.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring legally sound loan recovery documentation.
• Maintaining records of legal cases and recovery proceedings.
• Providing legal guidance on recovery strategies.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
• 5-7 years of experience in debt recovery/litigation in Nigeria.
• Strong knowledge of debt recovery laws, banking regulations, and court procedures in Nigeria.
• Proficiency in legal research and case management.
• Proven experience in handling non-performing loans and legal enforcement actions.
