Tech Lead – Cards Issuing

Job Description

AstroPay is seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead for its Cards Issuing squad. The Tech Lead will be responsible for leading technical decisions and architecture design, ensuring code quality, scalability, and system performance. The ideal candidate will have experience leading engineering teams in fintech or payments-related products.

The Tech Lead will work closely with Product, Fraud, and Finance to meet defined goals, foster engineering excellence, and act as a technical representative in cross-functional discussions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Cards product in partnership with Cards Product Manager.
• Lead technical decisions and architecture design for the squad.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, system performance and uptime.
• Mentor and grow team members.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Fraud and Finance to meet defined goals.
• Foster engineering excellence through championing best practices and mentoring them to the rest of the team.
• Act as a technical representative in cross-functional discussions.

Requirements:

• 6+ years in software development, 2+ in technical leadership roles.
• Strong backend experience (Java is a plus).
• 2+ years of experience with card issuing and card management platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
