Job Description
Pure Storage is seeking a Residency Engineer to provide professional services solutions through advanced technical and consultation skills, implementing and operating an Enterprise Data Platform centered on Pure products. This role involves project-based participation and contributing as part of the customer team, focusing on Pure products and strengthening knowledge within the customer team. The Residency Engineer will cover pre-sales and delivery, requiring deep knowledge in IT architecture and cloud technologies.
Role involves:
- Meeting time and quality requirements defined in the Scope of Work (SOW).
- Providing technical solutions and deliverables.
- Engaging in customer operations for Pure products and the Data Platform.
- Understanding prospects' technical needs.
- Participating in customer evaluations and proof of concepts.
- Advising sales teams on engineering developments and strategies.
- Assisting and evaluating delivery partner's services.
- Attending customer data centers.
- Participating in virtual initiatives and process improvement.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operation.
- Experience with data management architecture and protocols (NFS, CIFS, FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).
- Experience with data migration implementations for block and file.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, replication, and backup technologies.
- Experience with local area networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
- Experience with Windows, AIX (nice to have), and Linux operating systems, and virtualization tools.
- Project leader experience (2+ years) and project member experience (5+ years).
- Strong communication, task management, and project driving skills.
- Minimal 3 years as a SME / solutions architect.
- Native Japanese, Business English.
