Technical Writer

Job Description

Zscaler is seeking a Technical Writer to join their Technical Publications team. The Technical Writer will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Publications and will be based in Bangalore, India. The ideal candidate will translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.

The Technical Writer will work with UX and engineering teams to create post-sales content and enhance documentation with visuals. They will collaborate with subject matter experts from Engineering, Field Support, Sales, Training, and Product Marketing teams. The Technical Writer will also lead and mentor fellow technical writers, support documentation project scheduling and management, and contribute to the creation and maintenance of standards, style guides, and terminology best practices.

Role Involves:

• Translating complex technical information into user-friendly documentation
• Creating post-sales content and enhancing documentation with visuals
• Collaborating with subject matter experts
• Leading and mentoring technical writers
• Supporting documentation project scheduling and management
• Contributing to the creation and maintenance of standards and style guides

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in technical writing
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
• Experience in writing REST API documentation
• Knowledge of Open API Specification (Swagger) and JSON
• Proficiency in using tools like JIRA and/or Confluence
