Director of Engineering

Job Description

Narvar is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and grow the engineering team responsible for building consumer-facing SaaS products. The Director will collaborate with the product team to develop experiences for clients and their end consumers, playing a key role in ensuring the seamless development and delivery of product features. This role involves leading the production of product services and consumer-facing products, building and scaling tooling for merchant onboarding, and scaling a workflow engine and journey editor.

Responsibilities include:

• Building and leading the engineering team.
• Translating requirements into work streams for the team.
• Leading the team to embrace modern engineering practices.
• Collaborating with other managers and teams.
• Providing production support and improving operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A BS/MS in computer science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience managing a Manager
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Previous startup experience.
• Experience building high-performance distributed teams.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, Frontend frameworks and cloud technologies (AWS or GCS).
• Deep expertise in Java, Python, Go, Scala, or Rust.
