Job Description
The DataOps Engineering Lead role at Spin involves leading the DataOps team and setting technical standards for reliable, automated, and scalable data pipelines. The role requires deep technical expertise, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration, primarily using Databricks on AWS, with optional integration into GCP environments. The DataOps Engineering Lead will help build a platform that powers analytics, business intelligence, and AI use cases across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the DataOps Engineering team.
- Define and implement CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
- Oversee observability standards across the pipeline lifecycle.
- Ensure alignment between DataOps and other technical chapters.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and tech leads.
- Act as the technical authority for incident response.
- Promote infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
- Monitor resource usage and optimize cloud costs.
- Facilitate team rituals and create career development opportunities.
- Represent the DataOps function in planning and architectural discussions.
- Promote an autonomous work culture.
- Serve as a Spin Culture Ambassador.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years in DataOps or DevOps, with 1-2 years in technical leadership.
- Experience managing complex projects and coordinating team efforts.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Databricks.
- Solid experience in cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and orchestration frameworks.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and scripting.
- Strong understanding of data pipeline architectures.
- Proficiency in DevOps tools and technologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience implementing monitoring and data quality checks.
- Effective communicator who can bridge technical and business needs.
- Fluent English
