Backend Software Development Engineer in Test

Addepar is seeking a Backend Software Development Engineer in Test to join their Quality & Developer Enablement team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering developers, improving engineering efficiency, leveraging data-driven insights, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is remote within the USA.

The Software Development Engineer in Test will contribute to end-to-end quality initiatives, assist in developing and executing test strategies, and collaborate with developers to understand unit test coverage. They will also build and maintain automated test scripts, create reusable test automation components, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Role Involves:

• Contributing to end-to-end quality initiatives.
• Assisting in the development and execution of test strategies.
• Building and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Creating reusable test automation components.
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Tracking and analyzing defect leakage.
• Participating in code reviews and technical design discussions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of software testing experience with a growing understanding of automation.
• Good programming skills in Python.
• Experience with back-end data testing.
• Exposure to performance testing and API testing concepts.
• Good understanding of testing methodologies and quality metrics.
• Some experience testing distributed systems and data processing pipelines is a plus.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
