The Senior Data Engineer role at VTEX involves designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data infrastructure. The engineer will lead the development and implementation of data solutions. They will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the data platform to support VTEX's AI, ML, Data Science, and Analytics initiatives.
As part of the Data Platform team, the engineer will work to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure. This person will collaborate with other engineers, data scientists, leadership, and external stakeholders.
What this role involves:
- Designing and implementing modern data architectures.
- Building and optimizing ETL pipelines.
- Collaborating with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience designing and implementing modern data architectures.
- Proficiency in building and optimizing ETL pipelines using tools like Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
- Deep understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming, including strong experience with Python and its data processing libraries.
- Understanding of the challenges of handling large datasets and optimizing performance.
- Strong communication skills.
