Art Director, Contract

Job Description

Critical Mass is seeking a Digital Art Director for a contract position in Vancouver. The Art Director will be responsible for the conceptual development and execution of creative deliverables, including creating and communicating concepts, implementing marketing strategies, and developing interactive design solutions. He/She will balance creative thinking with interpersonal skills, championing creative concepts to clients and project teams. The Art Director will receive mentorship from a Creative Director and lead a team of designers, copywriters, information architects, content analysts, audio designers, and production specialists.Role involves:

• Developing concepts and communicating ideas.
• Balancing strategic development with client business objectives.
• Directing and delegating to core creative services disciplines.
• Contributing to project design and development.
• Mentoring and coaching teams.
• Building relationships with clients and vendors.
• Contributing to the innovative development of the creative department.
• Participating in strategic brainstorming and creative execution.

Requirements:

• Strong digital design portfolio.
• Experience leading a team.
• Experience meeting clients and presenting work.
• Experience with strategic brainstorming and creative execution.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Mac OS, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Understanding of After Effects, QuickTime, and Final Cut Pro.
• Efficient organizational skills.
• Eagerness to collaborate.
• Leadership abilities.
• Illustration skills.
