Job Description

Critical Mass is seeking a talented and experienced Designer to join their team in Vancouver. This contract role involves creating applications that drive a highly trafficked website, focusing on bringing new product pages to life. The Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch product landing pages, showcasing new product versions and updates. The ideal candidate is a pixel-perfect visual designer with flawless execution, who is passionate about the latest products.

As a Designer, the individual will be a user experience-leaning visual designer, comfortable developing breakthrough marketing campaigns. They will work closely with creative and tech disciplines to create elegant design solutions for the client's homepage and other platforms. A strong understanding of brand principles and style guidelines is essential.

Role involves:

• Creating original designs aligned with project goals and creative direction.
• Collaborating with Art Directors and the project team to explore concepts and iterate on design layouts.
• Anticipating and solving potential design challenges.
• Preparing optimized files and presentation materials for creative reviews.
• Guiding ideas to meet creative and business goals within project scope.
• Presenting persuasively and articulating design rationale.
• Consulting with technical disciplines to ensure designs work within limitations.
• Reviewing final deliverables for flawless layout, images, and typography.
• Refining design thinking and improving workflows.

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of experience in visual design for web, mobile, and/or app design.
• High proficiency in design elements, including typography, layout, and balance.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment and deliver quality design under tight deadlines.
• Photoshop expertise, including file organization and web production setup.
• Reliable judgment and initiative to collaborate on solutions.
• Passion for nurturing relationships and aligning teams around a vision.
• Clear communication and presentation skills for creative and technical audiences.
• Prototyping ability to convey preferred states and behaviors.
• Strong understanding of web development, including HTML, CSS, and iOS.
• Figma, Photoshop, and Sketch expertise.
