Job Description
Workato is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Nicosia, Cyprus. This role involves building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications with a focus on OpenSearch. The ideal candidate will work in a polyglot environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle and proposing improvements to existing systems.

Responsibilities include:
  • Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications.
  • Maintaining and evolving application cloud infrastructure (AWS).
  • Maintaining and evolving Kubernetes clusters.
  • Infrastructure hardening according to compliance and security requirements.
  • Maintenance and development of monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting solutions.
  • Scaling OpenSearch clusters to handle heavy query and indexing workloads.
  • Implementing and managing effective sharding strategies.
  • Designing robust disaster recovery solutions.
  • Implementing and optimizing vector search capabilities for ML applications.
  • Deploying and managing self-hosted OpenSearch clusters in Kubernetes environments.

Requirements:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
  • Experience with Terraform, Docker.
  • Good understanding of Linux networking and security.
  • Exceptional understanding of Kubernetes concepts.
  • Experience with GOlang/Python/Java/Ruby (any) and databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Advanced knowledge of OpenSearch performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing self-hosted OpenSearch clusters in Kubernetes environments.
