Job Description
The company is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take responsibility for the overall availability and reliability of the payment system. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, initiative, and accountability, with the opportunity to coach and mentor the team and introduce software engineering best practices. This role will directly influence product launch and contribute to transforming business operations across Singapore, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia.
What This Role Involves:
- Taking responsibility for the overall availability and reliability of the system.
- Providing feedback on architecture and approach.
- Implementing code and conducting code reviews.
- Designing systems within a microservices architecture.
- Participating in backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Creating and executing a vision that propels the product ahead of competitors.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant backend engineering experience.
- Proficiency with languages and frameworks, preferably Golang or Ruby on Rails.
- Expertise in SQL and database design.
- In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Proficiency in using Git.
- Proven experience in system design and building systems from scratch.
- Ability to maintain and scale systems effectively.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Interest in being groomed for a leadership role within the team.
