Job Description
Innovaccer is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of Gateway Services. This role focuses on interoperability across EMRs/EHRs, CMS compliance, and high-throughput data processing and streaming. The Staff Engineer will design secure, reliable, and compliant systems that enable seamless health data exchange, support regulatory requirements, and power advanced analytics at scale.
The role involves:
- Designing, building, and optimizing gateway services for secure interoperability.
- Implementing healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD.
- Architecting solutions that meet CMS interoperability mandates.
- Developing and maintaining high-throughput data streaming and processing pipelines.
- Ensuring end-to-end data security.
- Driving reliability, scalability, and observability across services.
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
- Partnering with product, compliance, and clinical informatics teams.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in backend, infrastructure, or data engineering.
- Expertise in designing and operating gateway or API infrastructure.
- Exposure to interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD) and EMR/EHR integration.
- Understanding of security standards (TLS, OAuth, SAML) and compliance frameworks (CMS, HIPAA).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and data streaming technologies (Kafka, gRPC).
- Ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Go.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
