Vonage is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate (Video) to join their Developer Relations team. This role is crucial for driving the successful adoption of Vonage's next-generation video platform during its modernization. The Developer Advocate will lead developer experience initiatives, guiding the transition from legacy OpenTok infrastructure and creating tools and resources for seamless migration and implementation.

The Developer Advocate will act as a bridge between engineering teams, product management, and the developer community, ensuring the video products are accessible and effectively implemented. They will focus on creating migration tools, reference implementations, and developer resources that showcase the power and scalability of the video platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, code samples, and tutorials.
  • Host webinars, workshops, and hackathons to educate developers.
  • Develop and maintain tools to keep API documentation current.
  • Design and develop tools to facilitate migration from legacy OpenTok infrastructure.
  • Gather and analyze developer feedback for tooling improvements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.

Requirements:

  • Strong software development experience with video/streaming technologies.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages relevant to video development.
  • Experience with API design and implementation.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote environment.
