Associate Corporate Counsel, Direct-to-Consumer

Job Description

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join their Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) legal practice area, supporting business areas like the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus. This role involves a mix of advisory and contractual work, focusing on compliance with consumer laws in the EMEA region and drafting consumer-facing and B2B contracts. The ideal candidate will have excellent judgment, broad legal knowledge, and experience in the technology sector.Sony Interactive Entertainment's Associate Corporate Counsel will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with and advising key partners across the global business, particularly for the D2C and Services business within PlayStation.
• Advising on legal issues impacting the D2C business, including eCommerce, subscriptions, and consumer protection.
• Assisting in responding to consumer regulator investigations and court proceedings.
• Drafting consumer-facing documentation and influencing internal policy.
• Drafting commercial B2B contracts relevant to the D2C business.
• Working with and managing outside counsel in multiple jurisdictions.
• Tracking and advising the D2C business on upcoming laws.
• Contributing to the refinement of current processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Proven experience working in and/or with technology companies.
• Commercial awareness and passion for technology, law, and business.
• Legal expertise in e-commerce laws, consumer protection, and commercial contracts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage projects with strong attention to detail.
• Energetic and commercial approach to work and advice.
• Creative problem solver.
• Team worker with a sense of humour.
