AB InBev is seeking a Data Engineer Manager to join their team in Campinas, Brazil. The Data Engineer Manager will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines while contributing to organizational best practices. This role involves leveraging modern technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality engineering solutions.
The role involves:
- Supporting the Data Engineering team lead
- Collaborating with fellow data engineers to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines
- Building and maintaining data pipelines that integrate diverse data sources into a Harmonized Data Mesh
- Debugging, unit testing, and deploying data pipelines while optimizing their performance
- Managing metadata associated with data and processes
- Documenting and versioning code
- Promoting Data Engineering best practices and contributing to Enterprise Data Governance frameworks
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality engineering solutions
- Driving continuous improvement in test development, automation, and release processes
- Advocating for user-centric design and functionality
The requirements are:
- Relevant experience in Data Engineering
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Azure
- Proficiency in modern data storage systems (e.g., Data Lake, Delta Lake, Lakehouse)
- Expertise in developing data pipelines using PySpark, Scala, or similar frameworks
- Experience working with Big Data platforms, such as Databricks
- Advanced knowledge of relational/transactional databases and SQL
- Strong skills in performance tuning for PySpark and SQL workflows
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences
- Passion for innovation and collaboration in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement
- Creative thinker who enjoys solving complex problems
- Team-oriented and adaptable to shifting priorities
