Job Description
BTIG is seeking a Finance, Payroll Specialist Vice President to join their team in either New York or San Francisco. This role involves managing payroll, the general ledger associated with payroll and benefits, and acting as the primary liaison with Human Resources. The ideal candidate is solution-oriented, thrives in a team environment, and is a self-starter.
Responsibilities:
- Processing semi-monthly, bi-weekly & monthly payroll.
- Updating and maintaining employee pay profiles.
- Processing leaves and terminations.
- Data entry and file imports (commissions, bonuses, expense reimbursements and 3rd party benefit vendors).
- Review and validation of timecard entries.
- Review and balancing of preview payroll.
- Partnering with the HR team to ensure payroll data flows seamlessly between HR and Payroll.
- Supporting month-end close by providing payroll reports and explanations.
- Maintaining payroll records and following established Company policies.
- Responding to employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll matters.
- Serving as the point person for tax audits.
- Devising and implementing payroll processes and procedures.
- Handling special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on payroll experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
- Experience with Payroll solutions such as ADP WorkForce Now and Custom Reporting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll protocols, IRS regulations, Federal, State, and local tax and labor laws, as well as IRS Sections 401k and 125.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Experience working with audits and audit teams.
- Experience with Netsuite and/or Coupa a plus.
- Broker Dealer experience a plus.
- Highly analytical with exceptional organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to meet hard deadlines.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to communicate concisely, both written and verbally.
