Director of Engineering

Job Description

Logiwa is seeking a Director of Engineering to drive technical excellence and scale engineering operations. The Director will enhance the quality and efficiency of the software development lifecycle. This role is critical in addressing challenges related to improving SDLC, leveraging outsourced resources, enhancing system scalability and availability, and stabilizing Quality Assurance practices.

The Director will lead multiple engineering teams, ensuring software development best practices are followed, and explore strategies to scale the engineering team in alignment with business goals.

What this role involves:

• Leading, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams.
• Defining and implementing best-in-class software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Developing and executing strategies for scaling the engineering team.
• Driving initiatives to improve the scalability, performance, and availability of the Logiwa platform.
• Championing and implementing strategies to stabilize and mature the Quality Assurance function.
• Overseeing all aspects of the development process.
• Managing project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
• Collaborating closely with Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
• Establishing and promoting secure development practices.
• Developing learning paths and providing coaching to team leads and managers.
• Overseeing penetration testing activities and the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Representing the engineering team in customer engagements, investor discussions, and industry events.
• Contributing to the Engineering Blog and enhance Logiwa's technical brand.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in .NET technologies.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering leadership roles, with at least 3 years managing multiple teams.
• Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS product company.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) technology
• Demonstrated experience in significantly improving SDLC processes.
• Experience in strategically utilizing and managing outsourced or remote engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of building and maintaining scalable, highly available, and performant software systems.
• Proven experience in stabilizing and improving Quality Assurance processes.
• Solid understanding of security principles and experience implementing compliance programs (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mentorship and people development skills.
