Job Description
Planet is seeking a Solutions Architect I to join their Pre-Sales and Services team. In this role, the individual will collaborate with customers to ensure their success with Planet's product offerings. The Solutions Architect will listen to users' problems and apply creative solutions, contributing to customers' ability to make global change actionable. They will also serve as a thought leader, guiding projects and teams to successful outcomes.
Role Involves:
- Applying expertise in remote sensing and geospatial technologies.
- Aligning project development with customer business and technology strategies.
- Building software tools, proof of concepts, and sample applications.
- Owning the customer success lifecycle for Services engagements.
- Providing training and presenting at conferences.
- Collaborating with Sales to close business opportunities.
- Interacting with users in Planet’s Education and Research program.
Requirements:
- Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography, or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in a technical geospatial or remote sensing role.
- Programming ability with Python.
- Expertise with QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, or other common geospatial software.
- Familiarity with cloud-computing platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, etc.).
- Ability to run workshops or training sessions with users.
