Job Description

Degreed is seeking a Senior DevOps Manager to lead its global cloud infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will oversee cloud environments across Azure and GCP, ensuring systems are highly available, scalable, and secure. This role involves leading a team of CloudOps engineers, driving automation initiatives, and collaborating cross-functionally to support evolving business needs.Degreed offers flexible work arrangements tailored to each role. • Leading and mentoring the CloudOps engineering team.
• Managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP.
• Collaborating with development, engineering, and customer success teams.
• Implementing and refining automated monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows.
• Overseeing change management processes.
• Driving automation initiatives across deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, and operational tasks.
• Ensuring adherence to cloud security standards and data governance policies.
• Monitoring and publishing key performance metrics.
• Continuously improving operational processes.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in cloud operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Deep expertise in Azure and GCP.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk.
• Proven ability to implement and optimize incident detection, response, and resolution.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Skilled in mentoring and leading high-performing technical teams.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are a plus.
