Job Description
Axon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Video Electrical Engineering team in Scottsdale, Arizona. This role involves leading the design, development, and testing of advanced electronics for cutting-edge video products and related devices. The Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams globally and mentor junior engineers. Axon is dedicated to solving complex challenges and delivering technologies that empower Law Enforcement, Public Safety, and their communities.
Role involves:
- Designing critical electronic circuits and systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Mentoring and inspiring junior engineers.
- Researching and developing innovative circuit designs.
- Leading project team EE’s and design partners.
- Creating embedded mixed-signal circuit schematics using OrCAD.
- Partnering with PCB Design engineers to optimize printed circuit board layout designs.
- Bringing up, characterizing, optimizing, and debugging systems and circuits using lab tools.
- Teaming up with RF Engineers to integrate and validate critical RF circuitry.
- Assessing design outcomes and presenting findings to the team and management.
- Enhancing design performance through simulation and measurement.
- Developing and finalizing Bill of Materials and other design documentation.
- Sharing knowledge and guiding team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 7+ years of industry embedded electronics design experience.
- Experience designing high-speed, high-density, portable, battery-powered devices.
- Demonstrated ownership of embedded electronics design across multiple subsystems.
- Skilled in high-speed, high-density hardware design.
- Proficiency with point of load power supply design and optimization.
- Experience with Lithium batteries and battery charging circuit design.
- Experience with RF transceiver integration.
- Exceptional hands-on proficiency with electronics bring-up and debug using laboratory tools.
- Strong schematic design proficiency using industry-leading design tools.
- Experience with Cadence/OrCAD is preferred.
- Collaborates effectively with PCB engineers.
- Experienced in designing electronics to pass regulatory standards.
- Independent contributor capable of developing products within cross-functional teams.
- Solid skills with documentation, analysis, and presentations tools.
