Staff Backend Software Engineer

Job Description

Lunar Energy is seeking a Staff Backend Software Engineer to join their team in the UK. The company is dedicated to transforming home energy through innovative all-electric products and a cloud PaaS for managing Distributed Energy Resources (DER) assets. The ideal candidate will contribute to building the platform infrastructure, solving complex optimisation problems, and designing business logic for APIs and UI interfaces.

Role Involves:

• Building platform infrastructure for real-time data ingestion and processing using AWS.
• Solving complex optimisation problems with machine learning and bespoke algorithms.
• Designing and implementing business logic for APIs and UI interfaces using functional programming and serverless computing.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience in strongly typed languages such as Typescript or Rust.
• Experience working with IoT devices in the cloud.
• Working experience with Unix operating systems.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload and deadlines.
