Job Description
West Cancer Center and Research Institute is seeking a Research Specialist to support clinical research operations. The Research Specialist will manage study training documentation, coordinate sponsor visits, process confidentiality agreements, and maintain subject tracking databases. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. The position offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for professional development. No nights, weekends, or holidays are required.

Responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing and processing CDAs, NDAs, and transfer letters
  • Coordinating internal and external routing of study contracts
  • Scheduling and facilitating sponsor visits
  • Maintaining enrollment tracking databases
  • Overseeing departmental and protocol-specific training documentation
  • Collecting and managing annual Financial Interest Disclosure forms
  • Assisting with the development and revision of departmental SOPs
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors and sponsors
  • Providing backup support for the Study Start-Up Specialist
  • Maintaining calendar and coordinating meetings, trainings, and events
  • Ensuring all documentation is audit-ready and compliant with research standards
  • Participating in staff meetings and contributing to a team-oriented work environment
  • Supporting onboarding and training of new employees
  • Performing other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in clinical research or a related administrative role
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret scientific protocols and research data
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and email applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
  • Familiarity with research documentation, database management, and regulatory compliance
