Job Description
Discord is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel to advance the company's interests in disputes. Reporting to the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, the Senior Litigation Counsel will handle a variety of litigation matters and take a hands-on approach. This role involves developing processes for handling routine issues and representing the company in novel theories.

Role involves: - Advancing Discord’s interests in disputes of all shapes and sizes
- Defending Discord in litigation, pre-litigation, and regulatory investigations
- Supervising and collaborating with outside counsel on complex matters
- Building and implementing systems for efficient e-discovery
- Monitoring new and changing laws and anticipate evolving litigation liability and risk
- Identifying ways to pre-empt disputes
Requirements: - JD from an accredited law school and admission to bar of a relevant jurisdiction
- 10+ years combined experience at a well-respected law firm and in-house legal department (tech preferred)
- Hands-on litigation experience in Internet law, including platform safety, minor safety, privacy, consumer protection, CDA 230, DMCA, and related subject matters
- Strategic mindset that balances proactive action and pragmatic risk management within resource constraints
- Excellent writer and communicator who can tailor the message to the audience
- Willingness to take on any project, from large to small
- Experience with scaling processes and procedures for a fast-growing company
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, prioritizing, and consistently achieving results
- Curiosity and ability to jump into less familiar areas and learn while doing
- High emotional intelligence with an attitude of open-mindedness, collaboration, flexibility, growth-mindset, kindness, and being humble
