Director, FP&A

Job Description

Cresco Labs, a large public cannabis company, is seeking a Director of FP&A to be based in their Chicago HQ. The Director will report to the VP of Finance and partner with business leaders on key financial initiatives.

The role involves financial planning, budget management, forecasting, reporting, strategic data analysis, and improving profitability. The Director will lead the development of financial management strategy and advise regional/functional leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with management on financial results, forecasting, and budgeting analytics.
• Manage and develop a team of finance professionals.
• Drive insights into business performance for decision-making.
• Design and refine processes and procedures.
• Provide readouts on budget variances.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Collaborate with IT on financial systems and reporting design.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (MBA preferred).
• 7-10 years of experience in a senior FP&A role, with team leadership experience.
• Project budgeting, cost controls, and ROI experience.
• Retail organization experience (retail operations or payroll preferred).
• Valuation experience (IRR, payback, NPV) and Retail Real Estate experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, US GAAP and/or IFRS standards, tax laws.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong leadership presence and ability to influence decisions.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and change.
