Staff Data Scientist

Job Description

Mozilla Corporation, a non-profit-backed technology company, is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join their Advertising Organization. This role involves working with a team of data and non-data professionals to understand and drive the future of the internet. The Data Scientist will collaborate with various partners across product, engineering, finance, business development, marketing, and leadership to empower rigorous decision-making and create impactful data products.What this role involves:

• Defining and implementing statistical approaches and algorithms for advertising technologies.
• Generating data-informed insights and communicating them to partners.
• Supporting data collection and building key data artifacts (dashboards, tables, analyses, and models).
• Designing interventions and experiments to support feature development.
• Collaborating with other data scientists to develop consistent approaches to metrics and measurement.
• Strengthening the wider data team through mentorship and improvements in how Mozilla works.

What candidate should bring:

• 6+ years of experience in quantitative analysis and building data products in an industry setting, with experience in the Revenue/Digital Advertising space.
• Experience with forecasting, causal inference, and optimization methods on large-scale data.
• Experience building business cases and solving ambiguous commercial/revenue opportunities.
• Excellent command of SQL and a OOP language (Python preferred).
• Knowledge of software design principles.
• Exposure to business intelligence tools (especially Looker) is a plus.
