Job Description
ShipBob is seeking a Manager, Software Development to join their team. This role is primarily responsible for the delivery of production level software from the teams. The Manager will work closely with Product Owners, QA, and the Director of Engineering, reporting to the Director, Software Development.

Role Involves:
  • Reporting on team performance and project progress.
  • Maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implementing and maintaining best practice engineering methodologies.
  • Providing technical guidance to engineering teams and leadership.
  • Supporting established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies for teams and individuals.
  • Dismissing and hiring engineers.
  • Handling additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements:
  • 9+ years of experience.
  • 3+ years of people management involving performance management.
  • 3+ years of project management experience involving single or multiple stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of service ownership experience, preferably managing Tier-1 services.
  • Excellent problem-solving, programming, and communication skills.
  • Object-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work quickly and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL, JSON, REST, .Net, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of relational DB concepts and design, Agile methodologies, and team building.
  • Experience automating infrastructure and build processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, event-driven (EDA) architectures, and service-oriented (SOA) architectures.
