NZXT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Banqiao, Taiwan. The candidate will collaborate with product and engineering teams throughout the hardware product development lifecycle. Initially, the role involves collaborating with vendors to review circuit schematics and board designs, monitoring each fabrication phase, and executing schematic capture, board design, and bring-up as needed. Over time, the role will establish optimal hardware design and manufacturing practices and guide a hardware design team as operations transition internally.
Responsibilities Include:
- Studying product requirements and helping develop electrical designs and specifications
- Using and reviewing electronic design automation (EDA) tools to perform schematic capture and PCB layout and routing
- Performing component selection, managing bills of material, and finding alternate components for sourcing when needed
- Performing testing and debugging for initial board bring up. Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities
- Overseeing Circuit design, modeling, prototyping, verification, and validation
- Schematic capture, PCB layout, and board bring-up
- Managing fabrication vendors and electronic development partners
- Providing hands-on support to solve complex technical problems
- Helping grow and manage a hardware design team
- Designing and layout using schematic capture, PCB layout, and board bring-up
- Providing engineering information by answering questions and requests
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+years of PC development experience or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
- 8+ years in schematic and PCB design experience.
- Experience with ORCAD, Allegro, and PADS software tools
- Previous experience with consumer electronics products a plus
- Knowledgeable of hardware design best practices and how to implement them
- Electrical stress and derating, such as voltage, current, power, inrush current, duty cycles, timing analysis, power supply efficiency, connector pin currents/derating, EMC considerations
- Demonstrate ability to perform circuit modeling and simulation
- Experience with EMI/EMC requirement for PCB design
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience, with an eye towards minimizing hand-off time to fabrication and assembly shops
- Management of fabrication vendors and electronic development partners
- Good English proficiency
