Job Description
Wayve is seeking a Software Engineer - Embedded Test Infrastructure to join their Onboard Software team. This role is pivotal in establishing the test infrastructure and practices to ensure the robustness and reliability of Wayve's AI-driven autonomous vehicle systems. The Software Engineer will lead the development and automation of HiL testing environments, create sensor emulation frameworks, and champion best practices in software testing across the organization. They will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of Wayve’s software development life cycle.

Role Involves:
  • Designing and implementing scalable and maintainable test infrastructure.
  • Leading the development and automation of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing environments.
  • Creating and maintaining frameworks for sensor emulation.
  • Championing the adoption of best practices in software testing.
  • Collaborating with product managers and Wayve’s Automotive Verification and Product Management teams.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers in test and other software engineers.
  • Contributing to the ongoing refinement and enhancement of Wayve’s software development life cycle.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in automating testing for embedded applications, particularly within the automotive industry.
  • Strong proficiency in developing test frameworks in Python, with additional programming skills in either C++ and Rust.
  • In-depth understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience leading other engineers in the design and implementation of test frameworks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex testing strategies and practices across an organization.
  • Familiarity with automotive software development environments and standards, such as ASPICE and ISO 26262 (desirable).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (desirable).
  • A Master’s degree is highly desirable (desirable).
