Job Description
DoubleVerify is seeking a Data Protection Counsel to contribute to all aspects of its privacy program. The Privacy Counsel will support compliance activities, lead projects, and negotiate DPAs. This role requires a candidate who is agile, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities: - Drafting and managing internal policies and external privacy documentation.
- Reviewing and negotiating client and vendor DPAs.
- Providing guidance on privacy compliance and implementing Privacy by Design.
- Leading PIAs/DPIAs/TIAs and other assessments.
- Supporting global privacy projects and initiatives.
- Analyzing legal implications of using personal data.
- Collaborating with teams to drive a global data protection program.
- Drafting and maintaining communication templates.
- Supporting RFI/RFP processes.
- Enabling deployment of privacy management technologies.
- Staying current with global data privacy and security laws.
Requirements: - At least 4 years of experience in privacy advisory, with ad tech experience preferred.
- Member in good standing of a U.S. state bar or qualified lawyer England & Wales.
- Strong knowledge of US data privacy laws, including CCPA, and other state laws and industry specific regulations.
- Working knowledge of international privacy regulations such as GDPR and LGPD.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-oriented mentality and willingness to roll up sleeves.
- Highly organized and analytical.
- Data-oriented with an instinct towards measurement.
- Interest in learning new technologies and processes.
- Strong transactional background with global experience.
